What API2Cart Is Evaluating for Odoo Accounting Integration
Candidate data flow
Commerce activity flowing into modular customer and finance workflows. The final entity and method list will be based on verified vendor API capabilities rather than assumptions.
Operational outcome
The intended workflow is to respect company, journal, product, and fiscal-position configuration. Record ownership and idempotency would be defined before write operations are enabled.
Accounting safeguards
The connector would need to coordinate eCommerce orders with invoicing without duplicate records. Orders, invoices, payments, refunds, settlements, and journal entries would not be treated as interchangeable records.

What We Know About Odoo Accounting So Far
Based on Odoo Accounting’s own documentation and API2Cart’s discovery process — not a promise of a release date.
API & Integration. Odoo's original External API uses XML-RPC and JSON-RPC endpoints, both officially scheduled for removal (Odoo 22 / Online 21.1, 2027-2028), with a newer JSON-2 External API positioned as the replacement. Authentication is via a per-user API key (Odoo 14+, passed as the RPC password or an X-Api-Key header) or a session cookie obtained by posting credentials to /web/session/authenticate. Because Odoo is typically self-hosted or run as a multi-database instance, calls must also specify the target database name, and no publicly documented rate limits apply to self-hosted deployments.
Is this integration live yet? No. Odoo Accounting integration is not live yet. Authentication, entities, fields, write operations, webhooks, limits, regional availability, and release timing remain subject to technical discovery and customer demand.
Verified vendor documentation Odoo documents bearer API keys, JSON-2 model endpoints, database routing, access rules, and plan restrictions. Version, hosting, accounting modules, localization, and custom models must be confirmed. Read the official Odoo External JSON-2 API documentation.
What’s the integration challenge? Engineering discovery must check deployment edition, model access, authentication, and customization impact. Unsupported objects or operations would remain outside the published scope.
How is a release decided? Roadmap evaluation includes API maturity, sandbox access, accounting correctness, customer demand, maintenance cost, data residency, rate limits, and overlap with existing connectors. The page records an integration candidate; it does not promise a release date.
Technical validation. Engineering discovery must check deployment edition, model access, authentication, and customization impact. Unsupported objects or operations would remain outside the published scope.
