What API2Cart Is Evaluating for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Integration
Candidate data flow
Commerce events connected to governed customer, sales, and accounting workflows. The final entity and method list will be based on verified vendor API capabilities rather than assumptions.
Operational outcome
The intended workflow is to retain company-code, tax, currency, and document-flow relationships. Record ownership and idempotency would be defined before write operations are enabled.
Accounting safeguards
The connector would need to support high-volume integration with auditable error and retry handling. Orders, invoices, payments, refunds, settlements, and journal entries would not be treated as interchangeable records.

What We Know About SAP S/4HANA Cloud So Far
Based on SAP S/4HANA Cloud’s own documentation and API2Cart’s discovery process — not a promise of a release date.
API & Integration. SAP S/4HANA Cloud (public edition) exposes OData V2 and V4 REST APIs, with V4 the current standard and legacy SOAP APIs still present for some objects; APIs are cataloged and sandbox-testable on the SAP API Business Hub. Authentication is OAuth 2.0 (client credentials commonly used for machine-to-machine access), requiring HTTPS/TLS throughout. Access to each API must be explicitly enabled through a "communication scenario/arrangement" on the tenant, meaning integration scope is whitelisted per API rather than open by default.
Is this integration live yet? No. SAP S/4HANA Cloud integration is not live yet. Authentication, entities, fields, write operations, webhooks, limits, regional availability, and release timing remain subject to technical discovery and customer demand.
What does SAP publish about their API? SAP documents testing API services against an S/4HANA Cloud system and configuring backend authentication. Communication arrangements, released APIs, scopes, and edition constraints require customer-specific validation. Read the official testing guide →
What’s the integration challenge? Engineering discovery must evaluate released APIs, communication arrangements, scopes, and edition differences. Unsupported objects or operations would remain outside the published scope.
How is a release decided? Roadmap evaluation includes API maturity, sandbox access, accounting correctness, customer demand, maintenance cost, data residency, rate limits, and overlap with existing connectors. This page records an integration candidate — it does not promise a release date.
Technical validation. Engineering discovery must evaluate released APIs, communication arrangements, scopes, and edition differences. Unsupported objects or operations would remain outside the published scope.
