What API2Cart Is Evaluating for Viewpoint Vista Integration
Candidate workflow
Link appropriate commerce activity with jobs, customers, vendors, materials, and receivables. Final entity and method coverage will follow verified vendor interfaces and customer requirements.
Operational outcome
The intended result is to preserve company, job, phase, cost-type, equipment, and document-status context. Identity rules and idempotency would be defined before transactional writes are enabled.
ERP safeguards
The design must coordinate external transactions without bypassing project and accounting validation. Customers, products, sales orders, fulfillments, invoices, and production records would keep their distinct lifecycle roles.

What We Know About Viewpoint Vista So Far
Based on Viewpoint Vista’s own documentation and API2Cart’s discovery process — not a promise of a release date.
API & Integration. The Vista API is a REST service layer available only to Trimble Construction One cloud-hosted Vista customers (not on-premises installs), sold as a separate add-on and provisioned per organization. Customers must explicitly choose which resources/endpoints to enable during onboarding -- not all data is exposed by default -- and expanding that scope later can incur additional fees. Trimble publishes a rate limit of roughly 2,000 requests per minute.
Viewpoint Vista integration is not live yet. Authentication, modules, entities, fields, writes, events, limits, editions, and release timing remain subject to technical discovery and demand.
Background. Viewpoint Vista is Trimble’s construction ERP for accounting and operational management. The product connects general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, job cost, payroll, equipment, purchasing, inventory, service, and project-management information.
Where it specializes. Vista is aligned with contractors that need construction-specific job costing, work-in-progress reporting, payroll, equipment costing, subcontracts, change management, and service operations. A product or purchase transaction can therefore affect a job, phase, cost type, company, location, or equipment unit rather than only a warehouse balance.
Integration challenge. Trimble documents a bidirectional REST Vista API for supported cloud-hosted environments through App Xchange. It covers many Vista resources but explicitly does not enable all data, and access depends on a configured Vista service user and its security. The published rate limit is 2,000 requests per minute. Discovery must validate hosting eligibility, enabled endpoints, service-user permissions, company and job context, identifiers, pagination, attachments, and whether a required legacy or custom field is outside current API coverage.
Technical validation. Engineering must assess available APIs, Trimble integration services, permissions, and deployment constraints. Unsupported modules and operations would remain outside the public scope.
Roadmap evaluation considers API maturity, sandbox access, operational correctness, commerce relevance, scale, customer demand, maintenance cost, deployment variants, and overlap with existing connectors. This page records a candidate, not a promised release date.
