What We Know About Genius ERP So Far

API & Integration. Genius ERP exposes a REST API using standard HTTP methods (GET/POST/PUT/DELETE) and JSON payloads, documented through an interactive Swagger-based developer portal. Authentication is access-token based: a token is generated via a dedicated endpoint and must be included with every subsequent API call. Published details on rate limits, a sandbox/test environment, or a formal versioning scheme were not found in available documentation.
Genius ERP integration is not live yet. Authentication, modules, entities, fields, writes, events, limits, editions, and release timing remain subject to technical discovery and demand.
Background. Genius Solutions states that it was founded in 1985, released early software tools in the 1990s, and developed into a full manufacturing ERP suite in the 2000s. The current product is designed specifically for manufacturers rather than as a general-purpose accounting platform.
Where it specializes. Genius ERP focuses on high-variable and custom manufacturing, including aerospace and defense, automation, industrial machinery, job and machine shops, sheet-metal fabrication, mold and die, pressure vessels, transportation, and food-equipment production. Relevant processes include CAD-to-BOM engineering, estimating, scheduling, shop-floor execution, inventory, purchasing, job costing, quality, field service, and accounting.
Integration challenge. Genius documents a JSON REST API with Swagger-based interactive documentation and controlled generic endpoints for selected ERP entities. It can connect websites, customer portals, dealer systems, and third-party applications, but the customer decides what is exposed. Discovery must establish the deployed version, cloud or on-premises model, enabled API feature, authentication and endpoint definitions, entity permissions, attachment handling, custom fields, revisions, BOMs, jobs, and order-state rules. “REST available” does not mean every manufacturing record is writable or that writes bypass required engineering and production controls.
Technical validation. Engineering must assess integration interfaces, authentication, deployment model, and supported record lifecycle. Unsupported modules and operations would remain outside the public scope.
Roadmap evaluation considers API maturity, sandbox access, operational correctness, commerce relevance, scale, customer demand, maintenance cost, deployment variants, and overlap with existing connectors. This page records a candidate, not a promised release date.
